It’s time for the huge news we’ve been promising!
For the last ten years, Si and Pip have been playing (almost) every weekend, gradually becoming Stonehouse Jack. We often dreamt of what we’d sound like complete with drums and a second guitarist, and very often Si would say, “if I could choose any second guitarist, I’d choose Paul Hennefer”, remembering his days in bands that once were…
Fast forward to 29 April 2017. Stonehouse Jack plays their first proper headline gig at 1000 Trades. We’re supported by a band called Harlequin’s Kiss .
Si laments how we’re looking for a guitarist and drummer, and Rob, the lead singer of Harlequin’s Kiss goes…
“I think Paul’s back”
Si goes, “Paul who?”
Rob goes…”Paul Hennefer”
What are the chances…next thing you know Paul is round the house jamming with us! The last time they saw each other was 15 years ago, and he turned up right on time.
Paul & Si used to play in a band called 11th Hour, long before Stonehouse Jack came to be.
Even though Paul and Pip never met before, the three of us play together as though we’ve never played apart.
Paul’s an awesome guitarist. He took Dig Deeper and worked his magic, and we loved what he did so much we invited him to the studio with us. You’ll hear his addition to our sound and we reckon you’ll love it. We do!
The recording sealed the deal, and we knew we had to announce that Paul Hennefer is now an official member of Stonehouse Jack!
Paul joined us on the third day of our EP recording, and added his stylings to three of the four tracks on the EP. Even though he’d had Dig Deeper for a couple of weeks, he’d only had the demos for the new EP for a few days. We’re amazed at what he achieved, writing new guitar parts that fitted in with Pip’s perfectly.
We hope you’ll give Paul an awesome Stonehouse Jack welcome, as he joins our musical crew! We’re now a trio!
