Jinba Ittai – New EP Crowdfunder

Below is our crowdfunding journey, which was originally published on  on 3 April 2017 through May 2017. Check out what we did, listen to our music and follow us to be a part of it…

Thank you! Crowdfunder Complete – Update 5

Our Crowdfunder finished on Monday and we’re delighted that we raised the funds we need to record our next EP with George Shilling, make a music video and put it all online. Thank you to everyone who backed us and shared our crowdfunder.

We’ve started getting everyone’s rewards together already, and will be messaging everyone to say thank you very soon. Most of the rewards come with a bit of a wait though because we need to record the EP and make the music video before we can deliver. We’ll keep you up to date with everything we get up to. Keep a close eye on us by following us on Twitter and Facebook too – our links are on our website

In the meantime check out the postcards and posters below…it’s a little sneak peek of some of the photography and artwork to come.

Thanks again everyone. We can’t wait to get in to the studio in the next couple of weeks!

Best wishes,

Pip & Si (Stonehouse Jack) x

Live Music! – Week 4 Update

Last week was another busy week for Stonehouse Jack! We played our first headline gig at 1000 Trades in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter (

We performed an hour set, including the first live performance of the new EP we’ll be recording with George Shilling. We played our full Dig Deeper EP as well as a few other originals never previously performed live, and a couple of covers from Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Levellers.

We had two great acts performing with us – the fabulous Jessie Desai….

…and the awesome Harlequin’s Kiss, playing a rare acoustic set:

We gave out free downloads of Dig Deeper EP at our gig, and had an audience of around 40 throughout the night – huge thanks to everyone who came to see us play and to 1000 Trades for helping us host this event. We hope everyone had as good a time as we did.  Check out our facebook page to see more photos and videos from our first proper rogue folk rock night! Big thanks to Ben Pennant for taking these great photos for us.

We also saw a sneak preview of the artwork Alexandra Craven is doing for our new EP and it looks awesome! More on that soon! x

New Reward! – Week 3 Update

Amazing News! – Week 2 Update

Thanks to our amazing and generous backers as well as match funding from Arts Council England, we are delighted to report that we have made our original target of £4,500!

We’ve raised enough to make a brand new, properly produced 4 track EP with platinum-selling producer George Shilling and make a great music video with Jason Weidner, plus we will be able to release all the awesomeness online.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far – without you, none of this would be possible and we’ve already started preparing your rewards. We’re so grateful and can’t wait to make you all proud.  We’re booked in to record with George at the end of May 2017 and look forward to sharing the experience with you.

It’s not over yet though! We have 19 days left on our crowdfunder and we want use it to invite as many people as we can to discover Stonehouse Jack so we’ve added 2 more rewards to entice new supporters – a download of our new single Jinba Ittai and a download of the full EP (delivery Dec 2017).  We have a new stretch target of £7,000 and if we can make this, we will record not just one but two brand new EPs!

We’re going to release our first new EP ‘On A Horse Called Reality’ later this year, and if we make our stretch target, we will follow it up with a second EP of brand new songs, and if we raise enough might even be able to make a second music video too. We hope you’ll share our crowdfunder and help us spread the word about Stonehouse Jack.

We also hope you’ll be able to join us at our celebratory gig on 29th April 2017 at 1000 Trades in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. We’ve got some great unsigned artists performing with us and hope to see you there. Check out our gig poster below! x

Stonehouse Jack Crowdfunder – Week 1 Update

It’s been a week since we launched our crowdfunder to make our new EP and music video and we got off to a fantastic start thanks to all of our brilliant, generous backers so far. We’re very grateful for all your support!

We kicked off our crowdfunder with a radio interview on Brum Radio, including plays of 2 songs from our first home made EP Dig Deeper. If you missed it, you can listen in here; we’re on straight after Basement Jaxx:

We followed the radio show up with an open mic at The Roadhouse, where we played a few songs, including one never previously played in public.

Our project was also approved for Artist + The Crowd match funding from Arts Council England, who will pledge 50% when we’ve raised the first 50% from our amazing backers. We’re currently at 45% – only 5% from the half way mark – so close!

Here’s to another good week – fingers crossed we’ll cross the 50% mark soon. Huge thanks to all of our backers for helping our musical dreams come true.  We can’t wait to make you proud with the professional recordings we’re going to make. x

Stonehouse Jack’s New EP

Stonehouse Jack are Pip and Si. We are a Birmingham based rogue folk rock duo. We are raising money to fund our brand new 4 track EP, which will be recorded with platinum selling producer George Shilling ( . Better still, if our crowdfunder is successful we will also be making a music video for our lead track with cinematographer Jason Weidner ( also have great photographer Ben Pennant and talented comic artist Alexandra Craven lined up to create original EP art for our new music project, which will be called ‘On A Horse Called Reality’. Our tracks are written and our demo EP is with our new producer George Shilling, who has this to say about us:

“I met Pip at a music networking event and could tell she was serious about her music-making, and when I heard the Stonehouse Jack recordings I thought they showed terrific promise. I’d love the chance to help develop the band and produce the fantastic record that I know they are capable of making, I reckon it will be brilliant!”

Last year we released a home made EP which you can hear at This time we’ll be making a brand new professionally recorded 4 track EP with George, including three previously unreleased songs, as well as a proper recording of our most popular track so far – Dig Deeper.

The funds we are raising will enable us to release and market our music online too and anything we earn from our music will go back into making more new releases. It’s a great opportunity to introduce work by unknown, talented artists to new audiences. We hope you’ll support us. We’ve got some great rewards on offer if you do, including a signed copy of our new EP and the chance to be in our music video. We also have a headline gig on 29th April 2017 at 1000 Trades in Birmingham to support our crowdfunder. Doors open at 7pm. We hope you can join us.

Please check out the rewards on offer and find out more at x

This project has been approved for funding through the Artists + The Crowd match funding. It will receive a top up of 50% towards its fundraising target from Arts Council England.
